Cancer Incidence Rates

By October 21, 2025Commentary1 min read

Just a quick note on this issue of supposed increases in diagnoses of cancer in young people.  Another study has looked at this in multiple countries and found that among 13 common cancer types across 42 countries there was no signficant difference in the change in incidence rates for younger adults compared to older adults.  About half the cancers showed a rise in incidence in young adults, the same cancers had an increase in incidence among older adults.   So much for the often weird theories about something causing more cancer in young adults.  Incidence is rising among all adults, partly due to better screening and diagnosis and partly due to poor health habits and environmental exposures.  (Annals Article)
