Renewable Energy Is a Scam for Rich People

By September 25, 2025Commentary1 min read

I am not exaggerating when I refer to the renewable energy scam.  It is a classic fraud–the public is told a pack of lies about cheaper, greener energy; rich people get subsidies, the electricity is produced is more expensive and less reliable, and operating these facilities causes huge environmental issues.  All to address non-existent human-caused warming.  Here is a great example.  California allowed construction of an absurd solar energy plant that took a ton of mirrors aiming sunlight at a central tower to heat up water and great energy.  The facility cost a fortune, $2.2 billion, killed thousands of birds and other critters and guess what, it couldn’t even do the job of producing electricity.  So it is being shut down.

The facility is leaving behind an environmental mess of abandoned equipment.  Birds are grateful.  Taxpayers and ratepayers, not so much. This kind of lunacy is why California has the most expensive and least reliable electricity in the country.  Minnesota isn’t far behind and is catching up.  (Ivanpah Story)

In my view it also puts nuclear and coal at a disadvantage. When the wind blows and sun shines that electricity gets first usage and dollars by law. Really distorts the market place.
