This whole episode is just one more example of idiot politicians ignoring actual data and research and catering to groups that they think will vote for them and trying to grab a whole new source of taxes. The legalize marijuana campaign is stupid and misguided. This is especially so because today’s THC is way different than that from the 1950s and 60s. It has been cross-bred to be super-potent and it is served up in various highly concentrated forms. The results include such wonderful occurrences as a massive rise in accidental child poisonings, some fatal, as a result of ingestion of pot edibles and drinks.
This new review confirms the most frightening of the effects of this really bad drug–it clearly causes mental health issues, including severe psychosis, particularly in teenagers and young adults. The Annals of Internal Medicine is a solid medical journal and published the review, which included 99 studies. The results were very conclusive. This is a dangerous drug–it clearly causes psychosis and schizophrenia. If you care about your own mental health and most importantly that of any children and young adults in your life, don’t let them get near this stuff and be sure they know the truth about its impact. And if you are a politician who voted to legalize this garbage, you should be ashamed of yourself.
