Debunking Climate Hysteria, August 12, 2025

By August 12, 2025Commentary2 min read

Three studies to note today.  The first deals with a new temperature reconstruction from 252 to 66 millions of years ago, when it was warmer than today’s climate.  Using dinosaur teeth the researchers also discovered that CO2 levels were much higher–2 to 3 times higher, but the correlation between the two remains unclear–does CO2 rise because temperature is higher or vice versa.  It appears to me that it is the former and it also is very certain that there is no linear relationship–increasing CO2 at a minimum does not result in a constant increase in temperature, whether in the dinosaur age or now.   The researchers find that all that CO2 resulted in much more vegetation, which we can thank for our fossil fuels.  (PNAS Article)

The second study finds that while Arctic sea ice declined somewhat steadily in the period from 1980 to 2007, since then it has been stable, despite a supposed big increase in CO2 and an even more supposed rise in Arctic temperatures.  Somehow the ice hasn’t gotten Al Gore’s message that it all should be melted by now.  (GRL Research)

The third is research showing that contrary to hysterics claims, the number of typhoons (hurricanes) in the Pacific have declined over the last couple of decades.  Extreme weather hysteria is a core component of the climate whackos attempts to support rich people getting subsidies for dirty, unreliable, expensive renewable energy.   (NTZ Post)
