Debunking Climate Hysteria, July 9, 2025

By July 9, 2025Commentary2 min read

The link between CO2 levels in atmosphere and surface or air temperatures probably exists but not to the extent or in the manner predicted by climate hysterics and their models.  It appears that in the past the earth has been warmer at substantially lower levels of CO2, so that it is unlikely that CO2 is the “control knob” for temperature as postulated by the hysterics.  In this new study, published in a Nature journal, we find that earlier in the current interglacial period, when CO2 levels were around 260 parts per million, the temperature in the Arctic was as much as 9 degrees Centigrade warmer than today.  The study examines the fate of glaciers on Svalbard over the last 14,000 years; glaciers which should have substantially melted with that level of warmth .  The glacier did not disappear but actually managed to remain stable or even grow, likely due to enhanced snowfall.  This history is another example of models being far too simplistic and not incorporating various feedbacks and consequences of climatic changes.

The authors attempt to make the required bow to the disasters supposed to result from alleged human-caused warming, but they should accept their own results, which indicate that even if the temperature increases, and the worst projections from the models are nothing like 9 degrees Centigrade, the horrible consequences said to ensue are extremely unlikely.  (Naure Study)
