Minnesota’s state-run and private universities are among the worst in the country for promoting radical DIE and other indoctrination and for actual education of students. They are also bloated, poorly managed messes, with constant large cost increases, which results in rapidly rising tuition. The University of Minnesota is now raising in-state tuition by 6.5% and talking about some budget cuts. I guarantee that none of them will touch DIE or the absurd “academic” programs that promote that. The President of the U was offended by talk about administrative bloat. She is making over a million dollars a year and should be the first cut. Universities are notoriously poorly-run, with no real oversight. We need a DOGE-like group to go in and take an axe to expenses and all the bullshit classes and degree programs should be eliminated, like ethnic and gender studies. The rest of the state operated universities similarly are raising tuition rapidly. Students pay the price, literally, or taxpayers and students pay the price as they get a pathetic education at high cost. At a time when inflation is coming down in most items, it is disgraceful that these institutions can’t get their costs under control.
