The Anti-Strib, March 29, 2025

By March 29, 2025Commentary2 min read

More of the same two themes I mentioned yesterday.  But the big headlines is that Trump is going after law firms that were engaged in political machinations for the Dems.  What did these supposedly smart firms think would be the consequence of being so overtly political.  The truth is that law schools and large law firms have become completely whacked ideologic, perverting the most important institution in the country–the rule of law and courts to neutrally apply those rules.  Union rights were nixed at federal agencies.  About time, government employees are inefficient enough to begin with, we don’t need unions to make that even worse.  And of course these unions are 100% Dem.

In Minnesota the lunatic Dems who taxed and spent the state into a serious deficit situation are proposing a very modest spending reduction, coupled with, you guessed it, even more taxes.  Meanwhile out of the hundreds of millions of dollars that the state allowed itself to be defrauded of, almost none can be recovered.  The scamsters have disappeared it, and some ended up in the pockets of Dem politicians.

And once again, the business section gets in on the act, noting that UnitedHealth Group appears to be pulling back on DIE policies.  Let us hope so.  Corporations should be ashamed of themselves for losing track of their core obligation to do what is best for shareholders.  They buckled to the pressure of adopting racist policies, which led to a decline in the competence of their workforces and in some cases to consumer avoidance of their products.  They wasted corporate resources building bureaucratic and divisive DIE departments, which infested every part of the organization and interfered with real work.  So I suspect many are happy to have a good excuse to dump this nonsense and get back to hiring and promoting on the basis of merit and to save a fair amount of money in the process.

The question, of course, is whether the companies who disband DEI initiatives will go the next logical step to killing it? That is, will they UNDO the damage already done by the DEI idiots. Absent that, little has been accomplished in the short run

IT was nice to see this run on PowerLine Blog which, unlike the Trib, is a great site
