Debunking Climate Hysteria, March 20, 2025

By March 20, 2025Commentary2 min read

The EPA some time ago decided that CO2 was a pollutant and endangered Americans.  It also found the CO2 has a high “social” cost.  These findings were made by an agency run by whacked environmentalists who cooked up whatever evidence they thought they needed to support the findings.  The findings have been used to justify all kinds of excessive and costly regulation.  The Trump administration looks set to revoke both findings, which is long overdue.  And some support for that effort is found in a new study by Ross McKitrick, one of the outstanding authors who showed that Michael Mann’s hockey stick was pulled from out of his ass, where it should be returned.  The Bidementia adminstration had substantially raised the cost of carbon, supposedly because higher temperatures caused by rising CO2 levels, would limit food production.  This increased cost was then used in cost benefit analysis of extremely destructive regulations.  It turns out that the EPA basically committed fraud in doing this analysis, failing to conduct even the most basic data quality and methodological checks.  McKitrick does that for them and his reanalysis shows that even were the world to warm by five degrees centigrade, and it won’t, food production would likely increase, not decrease.  (Nature Article)

Environmental whackos will lie, cheat and steal to accomplish their aims, which appear to be to destroy modern society.  They cannot be trusted at all, and when they commit this level of fraud, they should be heavily fined and jailed.
