The Anti-Strib, March 5, 2025

By March 6, 2025Commentary2 min read

This tariff thing is going to play out for a while.  It is economically complex, as I have attempted to explain.  So of course it will be top headline on the Strib, and you will get the alarmist view–Trump is messing everything up.  No where is there any enlightenment of the reader about the current tariff and trade policies of Canada and Mexico, for example, or China and Europe.  Such a discussion might give the reader a little different perspective, and we wouldn’t want that.

Inside, why is every headline and story that has anything to do with Trump positioned negatively.  Experts are alarmed at RFK, Jr.’s vitamin A focus for measles, the Defense Department is cutting an office to limit civilian harms in war, Musk and Ben Shapiro asked for a pardon for Chauvin for allegedly killing George Floyd, the vicious drug-addled career criminal who actually died of a fentanyl overdose, Democrats acted nicely in objecting to Trump’s speech, the IRS staff might be cut, federal cuts will hurt schools and so on.  Every single one written or edited to be as negative as possible.  No countervailing points allowed.
