Do Something For Others During the Holiday

By December 23, 2024Commentary1 min read

At this time of year I am very cognizant of the working people who make all the basics work for our society.  The mail deliverer, the garbage men, the grocery store clerks, baggers and shelf stockers, the people working in gas stations and convenience stores, those who deliver packages and all the others in similar positions.  These people don’t make a lot of money, but at least they working, at unglamorous and hard jobs; they aren’t leeching on taxpayers.  So I try to appreciate them by giving them cash.  A little cash can make a big difference–a better Christmas for them and their families, a nice meal, some needed clothes, medical care.  So if you can, give even $5, $10, $20 or more to a few of these people.  Give what you can and help make some of these people’s holiday a little better and let them know that you are aware of and appreciative of their work, that keeps everything going for all of us.
