Much of climate hysteria is driven by two things: one is taking raw data and adjusting it until it gives the scary trends you want and the second is developing models that always project horrifying future scenarios. It is obvious to anyone who spends one second actually thinking about the issues that neither of these two approaches has even the slightest resemblance to reality. This truism has been further demonstrated by a new study regarding the uptake of CO2 by plants. You may recall that the hysterics believe that human releases of CO2, primarily from the use of fossil fuels, are causing huge temperature increases. They further believe that nature has a limited ability to absorb CO2. The climate as a whole is extremely complex and the carbon cycle is one of the most complex aspects. There are a variety of carbon sources and sinks and how much ends up in the air as CO2 is an important factor. Climate models are routinely shown to be incapable of accurately representing how the real world works. No surprise since they are built by humans, and usually by humans with an ideological bent. This study shows that the models have been understating the ability of plants to absorb CO2 by over 30%. That is a pretty significant error. (Nature Article)
