Medicine Goes Whacky

By December 13, 2023Commentary2 min read

I have been writing about this for several years.  We are watching medical schools and medicine get transformed into an ideologically-driven profession that does not place treating patients well and improving their health as a first priority.  Medicine is unbelievably complex and practitioners need a lot of knowledge and experience.  The academic morons (yes, that is a strong word, but what else do you call people who are ruining health care in this country) are determined to focus solely on largely irrelevant characteristics like race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion and others in treating patients.  This Zero Hedge post describes how the most prominent medical group in Canada wants medicine to stop being about acquiring medical expertise and instead focus on systems of oppression and decolonization and social justice.  (ZH Post)

The same thing is happening in the US and in my home state of Minnesota.  One reason for this is that medical schools are enrolling increasing numbers of incompetent students solely because of these irrelevant characteristics and those students can’t learn to be good doctors or other practitioners.     So like dumbing down schools by not testing or grading, they don’t want to assess whether a student actually can treat a patient effectively, but whether they are ideologically pure. They will be awarded degrees and licensed anyway.

You may recall during the epidemic that there were calls from some doctors to not treat the unvaccinated.  Others have overtly said they would not treat or deliver poor care to Republicans, conservatives, white people.  This trend is destructive in any profession, but in health care it is literally a killer.  Be very worried about your health care.
