Like many companies, Nokia has found digital health rarely lives up to the hype. The company paid 170 million euros for Withings, a digital scale and weight management company, and acquired other digital health businesses, which it is now selling for a pittance and for which it is taking a 141 million euro write-off.

Seems to me we need a truly bespoke solution here. The replacement approach to healthcare doesn’t seem to work; A narrow approach to data and delivery is just that … narrow; Integration is used a lot but ultimately a fallacy when discussed globally; and so it goes. The winners here will be able to quickly innovate (likely more an internal innovation capability) without overpaying for services and maintaining levels of integration that allow for a seamless user and customer (likely different entity’s) experience. Sounds like a fun company structure to work in … tough to invest in … “we’ll figure it out”
